The Common Foundation
of All Religions

Actually, I expect most people to have problems with this because each religion (except the Baha'i Faith) teaches its followers that it has a monopoly on these and many other themes. The order in which these religions appeared on the planet makes it impossible that they "copied" from each other. For instance, the Buddha couldn't have copied from Jesus because the Buddha lived at least 500 years before Jesus. Read a quote, and if you know from what major religion's Scripture it came, touch the book with your mouse (DO NOT CLICK) to see if you are correct. Give yourself one point for each correct response. There are 35 possible correct answers. The Scriptures quoted below are Hindu (1400-800 B.C.), Zoroastrian (1400 B.C.), Judaic (1200 B.C.), Buddhist (500 B.C.), Confucian (500 B.C.), Christian (1 A.D.), Islamic (622 A.D.), and Baha'i (1844-1892 A.D.). Dates for actual revelation of the Scripture are approximate. |

The Old Testament describes Jesus as One
"Whose goings forth have been from old, from everlasting." (Micah 5:2)
The Gospel tells us that Jesus
was with God (and was God) from the beginning. (John 1:1)
Jesus said "Before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:58)
He says later (Rev. 1:8) that He is the Lord
"which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
It is no surprise to a Baha'i that Jesus Christ
should give the same basic teachings to every people on earth,
regardless of the Name He bore at the time.
This exercise in comparative religion is brought to you
in His love and service by one who believes in
Christ, Moses, Buddha, Abraham, Krishna, Baha'u'llah, and many others,
each of which bore the Name of the Messenger of God
for the Day in which He appeared.
