Introduction Invitation Christian Issues Inspired Art Baha'i Feasts
From One Baha'i Perspective
In rural New Mexico in the late 1980s, a woman nearing middle age brought to me a book that she had purchased in a Christian book store. She had read the Protestant Christian answers to many puzzling questions, but she wanted to know how a Baha'i would respond to those same questions. The book, authored by Josh McDowell and Don Stewart, was titled "Answers to Tough Questions Skeptics Ask about the Christian Faith." According to the authors' introduction, "Explaining many of the sincere inquiries skeptics have about Christianity is the main purpose of this book."
I responded to the woman's request to the best of my ability, telling her (and now you) that my answers are strictly from my independent investigation of the teachings of the Baha'i Faith, as well as from my study of the older Christian teachings, including the Bible itself. In other words, my answers are my own, not to be taken as the official stand of any institution of the Baha'i Faith.
The following pages contain questions from that book. To read the answers provided by the Protestant Christian authors, please find a copy of the book in your local library or book store. I wish only to address the questions as asked, not commit plagiarism. Perhaps the authors will appreciate me for recommending their work, even if I don't reach the same conclusions that they did.
I offer these answers in the Glory of my Beloved Jesus and in the hope that the reader may better understand the Baha'i perspective, at least from my viewpoint.
