Eddy's Story

The images that I produce here are inspired by the Holy Scriptures of the Baha'i Faith. Some have even started life as ballpoint pen doodles during a meeting, after reading a particular passage I find that some thoughts stay with me and I must get them down on paper. Some of my images, whether paintings or graphics, go through many changes; this is perhaps the one constant that there is, a core idea that undergoes evolutionary process until it reaches maturity.

This is, to me, a reflection of the process of spiritual growth, that has begun when I investigated the Baha'i Faith and subsequently accepted Baha'u'llah as the Messenger of God for this age.

Abdu'l-Baha, the eldest son of Baha'u'llah, appointed as the centre to whom all Baha'is should turn after His passing, said this about art.

"All art is the gift of the Holy Spirit. When this light shines through the mind of a musician, it manifests itself in beautiful harmonies. Again, shining through the mind of a poet, it is seen in fine poetry and poetic prose. When the light of the Sun of Truth inspires the mind of a painter, he produces marvellous pictures. These gift are fulfilling their highest purpose, when showing forth the praise of God."
